A Historic Honor from the Council of City of New York- NYC Council Ceremonial Tribute honored the Seven Summits Women Team in celebration of Womens Equality Day today on Aug 17th, 2014 at City Hall. NYC Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito awarded a Proclamation to the team along with NYC Council Member Daniel Dromm and other members of the Council. The proclamation said...And for centuries, women have struggled to erase persistent inequalities to achieve equal footing with men, but as the Seven Summits Women Team have proven with their brave trailblazing triumphs, it is up to each of us to ensure that future generations face no barriers to equality, no limits to their dreams, and no more ceilings to shatter; now, therefore That the Council of the City of New York is very proud to honor the courageous members of The Seven Summits Women Team for their extraordinary achievements and their inspiring message to women and men around the world. The council office informed that such honor is rare and historic.
