A History Lesson… Back in 2003 the first NLHF at the WEC - TopicsExpress

A History Lesson… Back in 2003 the first NLHF at the WEC featured 43 traders, and VERY wide aisles. In fact you needed binoculars to see from one island group to another… Then on the Friday we had 144 visitors through the door. Had it been an Antique Fair I think I’d have been lynched by angry dealers…but these visitors stayed for an average of 5 hours each, and there was a happy buzz of conversation and many happy traders…my team of helpers were gobsmacked! “Can we stop doing Antiques Fairs?” they asked “This is SO MUCH NICER!” The trader numbers went 43, 54, 77, FULL Now, I thought that this was not going to be the case at the Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre, as the sheer size of the venue and its facilities meant (I thought!) that we were unlikely EVER to run out of space if all the Re-enactment, Goth, LRP, Pagan and Alternative traders in the whole world wanted stands – but it is looking extremely likely that for October 25th& 26th 2014 we will be running a waiting list for Indoor Space and traders will have to either wait for a spot to become available, or trade from their tent outside. At least until the venue build their even bigger new Arena, which will have 7,480 square metres in the main hall, insulated and heated, plus a “Warm Up Arena” on the side! The current large Arena has 3,080 square metres…. We had 70 traders at the November 2012 first event, then in 2013 125 traders, and I suspect that in October there will be between 140 and 145 traders, making it the largest Re-enactment Market in the UK…and we have FREE ADMISSION!
