A Holi/y pledge (Arise, Awake And Act) My pent up emotions have gone out of control and exploded, if anyone gets hurt or offended I am sorry and apologise in advance for expressing my views. MY REQUEST IS read up to end and conclude whether I need the apology. For the last quarter of a century… a period for a generation to grow and develop …has been a period of struggle, tension and fight for survival and existence for Kashmiri Pandit community who have been kicked out of their homes for no fault of theirs. No one listens to our vows or sorrows. No political party or government has come forward to address our demands or problems. No Hindu organization has raised our voice except a tit here or a bit there. Have we ever thought why? The answer to this for me, after introspection during these 25 years is, we have no political sense or will, We have no solidarity for a common cause, no unity among leaders, we are the community who think others will come and help us. For 25 years some of our leaders have been raising our voice on every national and international platform. The out come “SQUARE ONE” we are where we were. Have we ever thought why ? We, a community of a few lakh, have hundreds of leaders, preachers, Gurus, parties, associations, groups and “gangs” with a followers of not more than a few score… (it can not be logically more keeping in view the ratio of number of leaders and our population)…. With every one having his own ideology and agenda, who have never sat together, sorted out the community problem, consented on a minimum common programme ( agreed they have different agendas, God knows what and Why), and acted on it. They hold protests, release press notes, take photographs, put them in magazines ,media, and social media for us to say “Great Karam Yogi” .If we ask what have you achieved in last 25 years the reply is wait and watch everything is under control, we will achieve what we want… not knowing what community wants. If you still persist or insist on the answer the standard reply is “ You don’t understand” or “you are egoistic” , “You must be well settled” “ Don’t create confusion or controversy “etc. For the last 25 years, I have been watching youth of my community. I have started admiring and appreciating them. I conclude this is the best youth brigade out of all the communities of the world, who in spite of all the odds against them have created a commendable position for themselves. And I presume most of them are settled in their life with exceptions being there as is normal. It is their courage and determination which has shown them the way. I personally respect their vision and their foresightedness ( of course it may not matter to them)….. hats off to them. Now is the right time for them, to stand up, take the initiative and lead the community forward, show it the right path, keep to their culture….. this can not be done by older generation, because most of the older generation is too egoist to sit together and sort out their differences and too selfish to be in limelight. Irony, is, if a group or a party gives a call for protest for a genuine cause, no other group ( I call them gangs) comes forward to strengthen it, lest the former steal the show as the call was his. My friends, you may think this as a “Bashan” or a crazy man’s post, as there may be lot of them, all without any solution. I think, if there is a problem, there is a solution. The only thing is guts and determination….. will for one single achievement. “Arise, Awake and Act”… Leave the mind set we are suffering.. No gentlemen and ladies, we are not suffering we have suffered, we have left suffering long behind. Now is the ripe time to act. No speeches, no press notes or garlanding each other for photographs , no nothing will do, only our collective action will do. We have bowed enough before every Tom Dick and Harry , we have presented ourselves enough as a suffering community. Let us now make others to bow before us, let us make our voice a thunder to be heard by all around the globe, let us tear off the shackles and stigma of being called losers and sufferers. The solution is simple….. select a date ,take a few days off from whatever you are doing, wherever you are, whatever your condition, however you may be feeling, ….all young and old, men and women, small boys and girls, sick and healthy, without any obstruction or excuse, with one voice and emotions ( a few days will not matter at all)………gather and assemble at outskirts of our HOMELAND KASHMIR and march to it collectively. This is in no way illegal, against constitution of any state or country. Nobody can be stopped from going home. Let us take this pledge on this HOLI and adhere to it strictly. This is the only solution of Kashmiri Pandit Community’s problem. Now the million doller question is “WHO WILL BELL THE CAT”….. Simple answer … all of us collectively .. but have we that… Please, don’t flatter me by liking it, it is for introspection….. think and act…. Consult all…. I am no leader, I am a simple thinker…. To act or not is your job…. But I know you will ….????????
