A Hollywood Moment: Our landlady in L.A. was also the executor of the DeMille estate. (Yes, THAT DeMille) So, every year she received tickets to attend the screening of a recently restored silent film. Well, one year she couldnt attend so she gave her four tickets to Theresa, myself and our two duplex neighbors. The film was Chaplins The Circus and it was accompanied by the L.A. Philharmonic. It was lovely! At the reception my neighbor and I got into a debate over the location of the old DesiLu studios. We kept going back and forth, back and forth and, finally, looking over my neighbors shoulder, I found the answer to our dilemma. The next phrase I uttered was, Excuse me, Mr. Maltin. Could you please help us? Yes, it was Leonard Maltin. And, in what seemed like three hours later, we all knew more about the DesiLu Studio than wed ever, ever need to know. I was wrong, by the way.
