A Keyser woman admits to stealing rings from a dead body. 41 year old Tonya Poland pleaded guilty to felony grand larceny in Mineral County Circuit Court. She faces up to 10 years behind bars. On November 17 2012 at Potomac Valley Hospital where Poland was a nurse Harold Myers was pronounced dead after being transported to PVH from Moran Manor Nursing Home. When he was brought to the hospital he had three rings on his fingers but when he arrived at the funeral home there was only one ring. Poland was developed as a suspect and eventually confessed to Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin McKone that she took the rings which were valued at $1,400. She then returned the rings to the deputy. Currently Poland is awaiting sentencing.
