A L E R T GET READY TO BE PART OF A RAPID RESPONSE TEAM THE DAY OF THE SUPREME COURT DECISION ON MCCUTCHEON -V- FEC FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS, GO TO moneyout-votersin.org/ HUNDREDS OF GROUPS ARE INVOLVED, INCLUDING OUR COALITION FOR POLITICAL REFORM FACTS: On October 8, 2013, the right-wing activist majority of the Supreme Court heard arguments in the McCutcheon (RNC) -v- FEC case, whereby the plaintiff argued to end restrictions on giving money directly to a candidate. A decision for the plaintiff means legal bribery of our politicians--you can hand a check for millions to your favorite one. The decision on this case is due any day, probably Feb. 24 or 25. Hundreds of groups nationwide are planning rallies on the evening of the decision, which will most likely come in the morning of that day. So, as soon as the decision is made, we will meet at 5:00 p.m on that date to rally against the corrupting influence of money in politics. Feel free to bring your own signs and bullhorns. We need a huge crowd in order to get media attention. We, in Chicago are meeting at the Federal Plaza with our signs and bullhorns to rally no matter what the decision against money buying our politicians and our political system. There will be rapid response teams calling everywhere to get people out. No matter what the decision, we still have Citizens United to contend with.
