A LIFE GOING NOWHERE: We are in a continuous hurry, running - TopicsExpress

A LIFE GOING NOWHERE: We are in a continuous hurry, running faster and faster, as if life is a kind of race, without ever considering what our destination is going to be–hence we reach nowhere at all. Or we reach to a dead end, confused about what else to do, seeing our complete failure. We just end up being tired–tired of making efforts, tired of life, tired of ourselves. The world starts to seem to us like a place of torture, and as we become older the torture grows heavier and heavier onto us. And we wonder why nothing goes well in our lives. We justify this by blaming anything–people and situations included–and by doing so we easily throw the responsibility away from ourselves. “It’s not my fault,” we say, “I tried my best–it’s just that life sucks.” We never stop and give a minute’s thought about the possibility that we ourselves are doing something wrong with our lives. “Why am I running so fast?” “Where am I going?” “What will I achieve by doing what I keep on doing?” These are a few questions we should all ask ourselves, but only a very small minority does so. Being entangled in the chaos of our lives, most of us forget all about them. Or perhaps we avoid asking them on purpose, because this may lead us to criticize ourselves, and this is what most of us are afraid of. To criticize yourself would mean to accept your failure and therefore to lower your ego in your own eyes. But how can your life truly go anywhere unless you have a certain aim? And how can you have an aim unless you find out what you truly want to aim for? Only once we are courageous enough to honestly question ourselves, will we be able to lead a life of purpose and meaning. - By Sofo
