A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Late last night I was wide awake, making the most of my insomnia, and reveling in the silence that for some reason, makes it so much easier to write when the rest of the world is fast asleep. With nothing to inspire me, and no new stories to tell, I did what I always do : I wrapped up in my bathrobe, put on my boots and went out walking. Orion is always overhead whenever I am wandering around in the middle of the night. Sirius is close by. I take comfort in their stellar companionship and imagine their frequencies trickling into my system, fortifying me with love and inspiration. By the time Im back in the house I am super awake, and curious, and alive. On my return from this most recent nightly venture Slim was on the brain. This is nothing new. Hes been dead for 7 years but hes bigger than life, and always around - especially between the hours of 1 and 5 AM . Sometimes I am more aware of him than others. Last night, I knew it was him because the aroma of a Lucky Strike blew me down the minute I walked in the door. Whenever this happens, all I can do is stop and say: OK, Boss; what do you want from me? Dont ask me how it works. I have learned to just pay attention to what happens next when these things occur. With no thought in mind I kicked off my boots, went to my computer and decided to play a little virtual I-Ching by clicking on one of my crazy conspiracy sites and letting eenie-meenie-minie-mo allow his wish to be my command. The randomness of things brought me to the following video. (PS: Boyd Bushman was a real good friend of Slims. Boyd was the guy who verified the fact that Slims rings and Harmonizers did what Slim claimed they did.
