A Last Hurrah! Cunard was very proud of the food it served on the Queen Mary. Some of the chiefs had special training in Switzerland, a center for high hotel cuisine. Today marks the last night the great kitchens were in service as original designed and furnished. Forty seven years ago tonight the RMS was steaming off the coast of Mexico. It was its very last night at sea. Here is the menu for that last dinner served from those kitchens which were soon demolished and rebuilt in a way that is not quit clear to us.(The original design was well documented in the Shipbuilder.) The menu choices were extensive and included caviar and foie-gras as appetizers. Bon appetite!
