A Letter to Santa Claus Hello Santa. How are you doing? I have been getting christmas presents since my childhood, some people say that its my parents who put those gifts there and you dont exist in reality. I really have no evidence of your existence but if you exist, then please reply. Today is Christmas and I know you must be going quite busy. But I would really appreciate if you could take some time out of your schedule to read this letter as it would bring a smile on my face. This year I dont want any gifts or presents as I have gradually learnt not to value these worldly possessions too much. All I crave for is solace. Everywhere I look, chaos is ruling. Malevolence, turmoil, havoc, and intolerance are abundant. A slight difference of opinion causes a person to happily kill a fellow human being. If it is in your hands to make our global scenario a bit more tranquil, it would be a present to every soul on earth right now and not just children. And can you believe it, Santa? People are holding actual grudges and fights over whether or not you are real. You strive to make us happy and even in your personality we humans have found ways to remain unhappy with each other. You see the irony? Also, you are exclusively associated with the people of a particular religion. A friend recently stopped me from wishing Merry Christmas as I belong to a different religion. I think children are just children. Their innocence is far greater than the ideology of any religion. And I dont think you check which God their parents pray to, before bringing gifts for the children. All Im asking for is to make these people understand that bringing smile on a kids face is the most virtuous deed in the world. Make them understand that spreading happiness should be the sole purpose of our existence. I hope I havent asked for too much. I know you are busy but it would mean a lot to me if you reply.
