A Little History: We have a culture of Independent Living and Hard-won Civil Rights. We gave up our sole employer status to share as Dual Employers with the unions so they would help workers get better pay and benefits. Now the unions have a tremendous amount of money by taking about $30 from 400,000+ caregivers, but that doesnt give them a right to FORGET -- to impose a foreign Corporate culture on top of our culture that we cherish. Our culture is nonmedical and personal. We must sit down with the unions and tell them to cease and desist this imposition of a Corporate Medical Business model on top of a rich culture of hard-won Civil Rights. We must tell that to the unions and get them to abide by the Guiding Principles they signed with ADAPT!
