A Lost in Space remake is in the works! (Lost in Space was my favorite TV show when I was a kid.) This legendary television series by Irwin Allen originally aired for three seasons on CBS from 1965 to 1968. There was a rebooted motion picture in 1998. The series was set 30 years in the future (1997). The Robinson family was sent out to colonize Alpha Centauri. However, Dr. Smith was a secret agent for a foreign nation who sabotaged the ship, causing it to become lost in space. Dr. Smith accidentally became trapped on board when the ship lifted off. The series started out as serious science-fiction, but soon transformed into campy and silly, but which caused it to become a cult classic. Personally, I hope this new series is done in the style of the first episodes. That means, no silliness or space fantasy opera. I want it serious, exciting, and realistic. And no changes to the design of the hardware: I want the Jupiter 2, the Robot, and the Space Chariot to all look the same. Finally, I want the characters to act the same. I want John and Don to be strong, courageous leaders. I dont want them to be wimpy or have psychological issues, for instance. Will, Penny, and Judy should be the same ages as before.
