A MALFUNCTIONING MAN UTD WHEEL UP AGAINST A FUNCTIONING CHELSEA - TopicsExpress

A MALFUNCTIONING MAN UTD WHEEL UP AGAINST A FUNCTIONING CHELSEA ENGINE English club football will definitely be confined to the old trafford come tomorrow as the english premier league pitches two of the most teams in the epl era of english football.the duo have between them not less than twenty four titles in this regard.whenever a match is scheduled between them, the attention of football apostles is focused on the game with some rapt attention.many a chelsea will predict victory for his team irrespective of team form guide.the same conclusion can be made of a natural man utd fan without any shred of doubt or hesitation.that is the gospel truth about these popular english teams.this will definitely be the position of their fanatical fanatics.they dont give a damn to team form guide. as a football fan with some appreciable level of appreciation of the game.in fact,i christen myself as a student of the game.i have followed these team for sometime now.i will situate this analysis on the back of unfolding events for the current season.the aim of this approach is to not entangle short memoried persons with a state of confusion.i wanna carry them along as active readers and not passive ones. the two teams are experiencing some levels of contrasting fortunes in the season so far.with chelsea still in the thick of affairs in all available competitions to them i.e. the epl, capital one cup or league cup,f.a.cup and the champions league.they are placed first in both the epl and the uefa champions league.they are undefeated in both championships and have the best attacking departments in their groups.the team has scored twenty three goals in eight league games and has the second best defence after southampton who have conceded just five. man utd has been booted out of the capital one cup by a lowly rated m.k. dons and not in the best of shapes and forms in the league.currently out of the top four.they have tasted all the possible outcomes of a football encounter.three losses, three wins and two draws.they have netted fifteen goals and conceded twelve goals.chelsea is undefeated in all eight games.these are facts which are never sympathetic to the old trafford lads.if these are anything for anyone to lean on,one would expect the blues to win.but i agree football never has a place for strict logical reasoning. let me now shift attention to strict departmental analysis of players manning different roles.i am totally convinced that, chelseas back five with the goalkeeper inclusive is stronger than that of man utd.courtois/cech,ivanovic,azpilicueta/felipe luis, john terry and garry cahill.man utds own consists of de gea, shaw, rafael, jones and evans.the man utd system is easily penetrable as compared to that of chelsea.and even individual player quality in this department favours the blues. the midfield systems also deserve some bit of attention too.a good midfield unit serves two basic purposes as far as I am concerned.one, this department prevents their back four from coming under intense and incessant attacks which might result into goals.and two, they also give supplies to the strikers to hit the goals.chelsea has fabregas, ramires, oscar, willian, hazard, schurrle.fabregas passing ability and assist rate is unparalleled by any man utd player.man utd too have blind, herrera, carrick, fletcher, anderson, valencia.hazard and oscar look slippery than their man utd opposite numbers.in short, the chelsea midfield without any shred of doubt is the more elaborate and lubricated of the two. but in touching on the striking department, this is where I believe man utd will give chelsea a good run for their money in the absence of costs and remy.utd has van persie, rooney and falcao.chelsea might have been left with drogba and who I dont know.any man utd striking pair will be deadly for Chelsea at the old trafford.the mourinho defence must work harder to be able to keep them at bay. chelsea has a record of not easily losing to the english big boys.i made this observation just last season.in that, season, the londoners never lost to any of them.they defeated both man city and liverpool home and away, undefeated against man utd and arsenal.if my guess is right, they took four points each from these two teams also.they simply know how to approach and play such games.jose mourinho has this this trajectory as a coach I know he will this positive thing intact.but coming up against your senior in any sphere of human endeavour is not easy to accomplish.you may be labelled either as an ingrate or arrogant.but i believe JM will know how to handle LVG so as not to attract negative banner headlines. NOTE:I WOULDNT MAKE ANY PREDICTIONS FOR THIS GAME BUT I EXPECT AN UNCOMPROMISING ENCOUNTER.
