A MESSAGE FROM CHAD CALEK ABOUT TRUTHER As the son of a career Air Force engineer and Vietnam era veteran, and the grandson of pilot who received three purple hearts after being shot down in Word War II, TRUTHER is one of the more personal documentaries that Ive ever produced. Theres no greater sacrifice than ones life. So when such a sacrifice occurs, there should be no questions as to why that sacrifice was made. Unfortunately, the events of 9.11.01 left us with more questions than answers. But if you simply take a look at the actual footage shot by the thousands of people who witnessed the terrorist attacks as they happened, you begin to realize that their footage has no agenda... and the picture becomes much more clear. Theres nothing more patriotic than asking the hard questions when it comes to the loss of life. I tried to construct this film in the same manner as if I were to have lost my father and grandpa on Sept. 11th. If that were the case, I would be unrelenting in my quest for the truth, as the greatest tragedy that was suffered during the terrorist attacks, was that thousands of innocent people lost their lives without ever knowing why. TRUTHER is my attempt to bring some sort of clarity and understanding to an event in which the truth was cloaked in secrecy long before the dawn of that horrific morning. Thank you for your time.
