A MESSAGE FROM NBSLSC PRESIDENT, MARK COTTER Dear Members It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing to inform you of the passing of Husain Gholami. Husain was one of the brightest stars amongst so many at our Club. He was involved with every area of the Club and was one of those members who was always doing a task before you asked. A competitor representing all of us flying the Red, White and Chocolate with pride, a strong swimmer, fearless in the IRB and always ready on patrol to help anyone getting into trouble, even showing the pros how to BBQ on a Sunday morning. He was involved in EVERY way. From the Most Outstanding Junior in the Club to the Branch Rookie Lifesaver of the Year .. there were so many accolades, yet he was always so humble and willing to help. He achieved his Bronze, IRB Crew, ARTC, First Aid, Spinal Management and assisted with the training of many others. Husain even starred in the Stan and Bas MacDonald Relays. It seems there was nothi ng he couldnt do. On patrol he proved to be a natural leader, and an achiever, and someone who was always willing to put up their hand to help out. Husain Gholami was the best of North Bondi SLSC and the best of Surf Lifesaving Australia. Despite all of his amazing talents, it was his kind, warm and generous spirit that touched us all. From the kids just coming through from nippers to his peers, and those much older. He had time for all and his enthusiastic approach rubbed off on all. His beaming smile could light up the darkest of hearts, his big bear hug could warm the coldest of souls, and his cheeky laugh made us all feel good. He seemed so happy, so positive, and so full of life, hope and potential. Husain, was greatly admired and very much loved, Im sure he will be missed by all of us ... more than he will ever know. North Bondis Husain Gholami died at 6.00pm Wednesday with his family by his side. In closing Id like to reinforce to all members that we are a family. Any member who needs or would like to discuss this matter with family, friends or fellow members I would encourage you to do so. We will be arranging counsellors through Surf Life Saving and you can always contact one of the community services listed below. No one is without problems or worries, and what makes us strong is sharing them with friends and family and working them through. The great thing about North Bondi SLSC is that we are there for one another during both good and tough times. Please reach out for the support that is there for all of us.
