A MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT DR. BRIAN MAHER This time of year - TopicsExpress

A MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT DR. BRIAN MAHER This time of year I often find myself thinking about the things I value most – quality time with family and friends, education, and the caring people I work with on a regular basis. I am reminded of how much we in Kearney Public School have to be thankful for; inspiring instructors, dedicated support staff; motivated and eager students; and involved families. I would like to thank the students, staff, parents and community members who contribute so much in creating an atmosphere of excellence at Kearney Public Schools. We have had a productive beginning to the academic year. Staff and students are engaged in teaching and learning in the classrooms. The fall athletic season is winding down and winter sports have begun. Holiday dances, musical celebrations and theatrical productions are in full swing at schools across the district. Even with all of this, our students and staff continue to find time to think of others and reach out to those less fortunate. I am always amazed and humbled with the abundance of community projects that take place in our schools. Our students work with families in need to donate food baskets, share time with senior citizens and participate in activities that provide gifts to underprivileged kids. Thank you to all involved for your passion, persistence and generosity in making this happen. Through your efforts, individually and collectively, we do make a difference to others. Beginning December 22, we will enjoy our winter recess. It is my hope that you enjoy the time with much laughter, love and good health. I hope you are able to spend time connecting with family members and friends and take time for yourself. I wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday season and wonderful New Year.
