A MOTHER, father and daughter from Tredegar have each been sentenced to seven months in prison after they falsely claimed more than £50,000 in benefits for themselves. Alison Parfitt, 48, husband Jason Parfitt, 47 and pregnant daughter Gemma Parfitt, 27, were give the sentence in Cardiff Crown Court today. 29-year-old Stewart Parfitt, son of Allison and Jason and brother to Gemma, was also given a seven month sentence suspended for 18 months after he also falsely claimed £28,000. Husband and wife Allison and Jason Parfitt had claimed to the Department of Work and Pensions they were living apart, but a seize and search raid by police last year showed they had joint credit cards and a joint tenancy. Gemma Parfitt also claimed she was a single person when she was living with partner Wayne Rees, with whom she has a child. In interviews last year she denied knowing who the father of her child was and said Rees was just a friend.
