A MUST READ TO ALL CONGRESS OF THE PEOPLE LEADERS. Acknowledge my sincere greetings comrades. Ive perceived that as we start our year, we should make a reflection on other aspects of leadership which could possibly assist us going forward. Let me perhaps start with the premise that a competent leader can get efficient service from poor troops, while on the contrary an incapable leader can demoralize the best of troops. Or rather say leaders must be close enough to relate to others particularly their constituents , but far enough ahead to motivate them. We have a responsibility comrades, to enhance and uplift the morale of our own people. And we must also note the fact that we mostly need the youth (including students) to revive our organization and also to enhance most of our programmes and plans. Our youth is not being developed, and we all know that the growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership. We are not in a managerial system, but a leading practice for management is about arranging and telling, while on the otherside Leadership is about nurturing and enhancing. We have many University post graduates who are not necessarily doing anything, and temptations have aroused, to say yes to anything even if it means leaving the organisation for one that could put bread on the table. The response to this question, what can we do to empower them? Should also be in our plans. Ive often said that one of the tests of leadership is the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency. Comrades, our calling is greater than what it looks to be, we have a job to do. Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership Let us wake up. #Cde King Phakwago
