A Message about FCAT Testing from Superintendent Browning. I’m sorry to have to contact parents for a second time this week, but I felt I should let you know that we had more issues administering computer-based FCAT exams today. This time the problem was with our local internet service, and it was corrected shortly after noon. Many schools were able to complete testing, but some students will have to make up exams. The problems we’ve experienced this week do cause me concern as the state continues to move to more computer-based testing. Please know that we are working with the Legislature to equip our schools with adequate technology so that we don’t experience these types of problems in the future. I want to thank our teachers, administrators, parents, and especially our students for their flexibility in dealing with these unexpected outages. Have a good night. Thank you.
