A Message from the Superintendent of Schools... Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you! As our 2013-14 school year draws to a close, I want you to know how grateful I am for what you do to support the students in our schools. I appreciate the unending commitment of our teachers, administrators, and support staff. I am so very proud of you, your work, and the achievement of our students. Just this week we received a notice from the Florida State Board of Education that Citrus County School District is recognized as a “High Performing District” for the eighth year in a row; this list gets smaller every year. We have received our first set of FCAT data and we have such positive results thanks to your hard work. This only happens when there are great teachers, hard-working students, and supportive staff and families. Our entire community shares this award. I have attached the Florida Department of Education’s press release where Citrus County School District has been singled out and honored with only two other districts out of 67 counties. So now we begin our “summer experience.” For some it means vacation, relaxation, or hobby exploration. No matter what plans you may have, I hope that you enjoy and that you are safe. If you are around in the summer, please stop in to see me for a visit. And one more – Thank You! P.S.
