A Mickey Mouse in the Woods: Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 No.46521 heads a typical two-coach rural branch-line passenger train on the South Devon Railway, Devon, the illusion complete by the consistent early 1950s livery of black for the loco and blood and custard (red and off-white) for the coaches. These light mixed traffic Ivatt 2-6-0 locos were often known by their nickname Mickey Mouse Moguls, and were designed for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), with construction beginning in 1946. However, No.46521 was built by British Railways at their former GWR Swindon Works in 1953, and is normally based on the Great Central Railway, Leicestershire.
