A Mild, Murky Start SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) - It’s a murky, mild start with some areas of light fog. This afternoon skies will brighten up and then break to some afternoon sun which sends temperatures up into the 70′s. It will be rather muggy today as well with dew points creeping into the 60′s. It also destabilizes to atmosphere enough for a possible shower or thundershower by late afternoon or early evening. Most of the day will be rain free. As the southerly flow becomes better established tonight and tomorrow ahead of a powerful slow-moving frontal system, the moist airflow will lead to an increasing chance of showers. Occasional showers and some mist can be expected tonight into tomorrow along with a breeze and a muggy feel. Rain amounts should be pretty light though until the frontal boundary nears Friday night. Late Friday evening into roughly mid morning on Saturday, rain will fall steadily and at times heavily. Estimates are still coming in around 1 1/2 to 2″ of rain during that time which is enough to result in some street flooding. Right now the rest of the weekend from mid-day Saturday on looks mostly dry expect for a leftover Saturday afternoon shower and a pop-up Sunday afternoon shower or two in spots. Have a great day!
