A Missouri company is recalling packaged caramel apples that may be linked to a listeria outbreak that has hospitalized 29 people and killed at least three in 10 states. In 2011, listeria in cantaloupes killed 33 people and sickened 147 in 28 states. In 2014 raw milk has been associated with the death of one child in Australia now all raw milk sold in Victoria usually as bath milk will be tainted with a chemical that induces the gag reflex beginning January 1st 2015. I havent seen any talk of caramel apples and cantaloupe being injected with this chemical despite these foods with a bacteria have caused death. Smells like a witch hunt to me against a food that is consumed by millions of people around the world without sickness or death, just like caramel apples and cantaloupe are consumed by millions without death. Where is the common sense in this matter?
