A Momentous moment, and THE LATEST Heartland Milestone! Major CONGRATS to our BIG! BOLD! and BEAUTIFUL! Kohl... on a major step and breakthrough in her lifes retraining. After weeks and months of questioning and wondering - not just when but even if - whether or not she would ever get the point of true trust, calmness, and being able to have an enjoyable and normal equine life and a job for the rest of her hopefully long life - we experienced and true, major, and unexpectedly early breakthrough last night. For the first time EVER her dads Brian and Paul were able to successful mount and ride their big girl Kohl this evening. A Major achievement for this big creature who was once on her way to the meat market - rescued from a past life of abuse and abandonment. It has taken literally months (1.5 years to be exact) to get the big girl to this point. and in just her 3rd session of calm, purposeful, and gentle hands-on training and trust building, trainer Deanna saw and felt the right moment. And it was magically AMAZING!! Major Thank Yous to Deanna for your great advise, calm and caring attention, genuine love, talent and insight into doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time for Kohl - truly no pressure, no threatening, and for the love of horses (something we love at Heartland). A true MAJOR STEP in Kohls new life. We love you big girl!
