A Monocled Cobra was rescued from the house of one Manab Jyoti Gogoi of Chapanala yesterday by Green Guard Nature Organization rescue specialist Dulu Bora. It had somehow entered the bedroom and was found feeding on a toad after which Dulu was called by the frantic family. Interestingly women of the neighborhood wanted to kill the venomous snake while most of the youths wanted Dulu to release it somewhere far from the neighborhood. Finally good sense prevailed over ophiophobia and the snake was allowed to live. It was rehabilitated back to the wild at the forests at Bagherghati, close to the Swang RF.
