A Must Read For Women To Identify The Most Important Things From Any Protection Course As a senior level DOD (Department of Defense) instructor and a kid who grew up fighting in a rough part of town, I find that Sgt. Newman has done an excellent job in her course curriculum. One of the key things she stated was teaching to fight to win and to fight dirty! This is huge and can’t be discussed enough. Any course that teaches toe to toe fighting with a street attacker is doing you a disservice and I would urge you not to take the course. In our high risk operator courses we teach identifying pre-incident indicators, these are thing subjects do that give you clues to a possible on coming attack. Sgt. Newman talks about skills in spotting and avoiding bad situations - this is a critical skill to have and often over looked in many courses. This can give you the upper hand in your response time to the attack. Remember bad guys will always be there, it’s our job as instructors to make you a hard target! Even at the highest levels of training we focus on fundamentals of combat (basic skills) which are what’s going to save you when the pressure is on.Don’t put this type of survival training off, it has huge cross over into other areas of life that will benefit you greatly.
