A Mystery Im trying to Solve and I need Help. This is a Photo taken of My Paterson Family Line. Im looking for Help finding out about who Mary Osborne was? (Standing 2nd from Right) In Photo are: (Sitting) Mr. & Mrs. George Hastie Paterson. (Standing Left to Right) Will Paterson, Libbie Paterson, Alex R. Paterson, Mattie Paterson, Mary Osborne & David Paterson. This Photo was saved with the Photo I posted last week, Home of the Homeless here in Westbrookville, NY (Sullivan County) I also added the single Photo of my Gr-Gr Grandmother, Margaret (McFarlane) Paterson to see if you believe thats her, 2nd from Left Standing in the Family Photo? This is my problem and why finding out who Mary Osborne is important to me. I dont like past residents forgotten or mislabeled. My Gr-Gr-Gr Grandfather was George Hastie Paterson. He had sons named George Hastie Paterson, David Paterson, Alex R. Paterson & My Gr-Grandfather Will Paterson & a daughter Elizabeth Paterson (Libbie) & Martha Paterson (Mattie) and other Sons & Daughters too. My Gr-Gr-Grandfather Will Patersons Wifes Name was Margaret (McFarlane) Paterson. (Shes in the Single Photo in this post) This is my problem, as I mention my Gr-Gr-Gr Grandfather George Hastie Paterson other son & My Gr-Gr-Grandfather Will Patersons Brother was also a George Hastie Paterson. He also had sons named Will, David & Alex Robertson Paterson and a daughter Martha Paterson (Mattie?) Or since George Hastie Paterson, my Gr-Gr Grandfathers brother didnt have a daughter named Elizabeth or Margaret that could be shortened as Libbie, maybe its a mixture of the ones I mentioned as it could be both My Gr-Gr Grandparents with his brother and his kids. Also, in this Photo, David has a Cane, which is another Mystery of what caused him to use a Cane, especially if he were a Detective or a Lumberjack/Sawmill Owner depending on which David Paterson. Ive been able to find out 1 of the David Patersons was a Detective both here in Westbrookville & in Brooklyn and the other David Paterson was a large land owner in Westbrookville in 1875 Maps and had a Sawmill on his property. (Footings for it still are there) If Mrs. George Hastie Paterson was labeled with a 1st name it wouldve helped since my Gr-Gr-Gr Grandmother was Martha Cantley Paterson wife of George Hastie Paterson. My Gr-Gr-Gr Aunt was Cecelia Paterson wife of George Hastie Paterson. So Mary Osborne is a Clue Im looking for answers. Also, Both Alex Robertson Patersons died young. If this photo is from 1896-1897 he died within a year in 1897 soon after this photo taken. He died at 26 yrs old, that death is another mystery? The other died about 40 yrs old in 1889 which means the photo would be dated about 1879-1883. If anyone knows anything about Mary Osborne of Westbrookville, NY or in Sullivan County or that Family Line I would appreciate it. Thank You!
