A NEW, EASY WAY TO DONATE TO HFHT! Smith’s Food & Drug is rolling out the new Smith’s Community Rewards program that lets customers select the charities to which Smith’s will donate, based on dollars they spend in stores. According to a press release, it is estimated that hundreds of nonprofits would earn part of the $1.4 million Smith’s will contribute in 2014. Customers and organizations will find enrollment information as well as program details at smithscommunityrewards. To participate, customers will need to go online to link their rewards card number to a local nonprofit. Smith’s Community Rewards program is open to any 501(c)3 serving the company’s seven Western states of operation. Nonprofit organizations wishing to participate must register. Contributions up to $350,000 will be issued quarterly in 2014.
