A NEW LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION IS BORN!! This is the fight to watch if you like non-stop action for 5 rounds! I know everyone likes a knock out, especially the casual fan but seriously, if you do not also like an absolute war of attrition like this fight between Adam Cook and David Butt then Im sorry to tell you, youre not a real MMA fan. It is hard to believe that both of these warriors went through a 3 round battle earlier the same night! Most people know the back story of Dave Butt, our most capped fighter, win or loose, always puts on a show for the fans and will never take a step backwards...tough as they get! Adam Cook was one of a couple of kids to young to compete in our amateur series because of Tasmanian Government regulation until he was 18 but we already knew about him and couldnt wait to see him in the cage. The coolest fact about this is they both came through the amateur series, on to the pro show and have been excelling. Both have taken on different weight classes and both have had either wars, knockouts or choked out people until they were unconscious. Butt has the pure aggression, heart and soldier like discipline where as Cook has the poise and timing and awkward movement, I like to say Lyoto Machida-esk style. Both are great guys outside the cage and it was very difficult to want one to win over the other...all I knew as a promotor is, either way a true champion was going to be crowned that night! Congratulation to both teams, Shen Acadamy and Oscar Harding and Riot Vale Tudo and Dan Enson Hyatt for preparing both so well for what is being touted as the best VALOR event ever. This event was aired on Comcast Sports Network in the USA because of this fight and with a 22 million viewer reach, I hope that these guys get the recognition, fans and sponsors jumping on board. VALOR 10 in Brisbane is due to be live streamed on the internet and also aired of Fox Sports here in Australia...get on to it now, this is where dreams are made! VIVA LA VALOR
