A NEW YEAR BEGINS.... With the same rhetoric from Gov. Dayton. More taxes and more spending. He is proposing a new sales tax in additional to a wholesale tax on gasoline. Resulting in about 12 cent per gallon hike at the pump. Record new tax increases and record spending in the last session apparently only wetted the appetite for more government growth. We do need to allocate more money for roads and bridges. But that can be done without raising taxes. Too many tax dollars are spent on light rail. Bonding money needs to be spent on infrastructure. Needs not wants. Some of the surplus could be used for one time road and bridge work. You told me too much money and power goes to St. Paul. I agree. I will not vote for a tax increase. I will work to eliminate unnecessary regulations and promote local control. I will address specific areas in future posts. I am driving to St. Paul today and moving into my apartment to share with Rep. Dan Fabian from Roseau. The swearing is set for Tues. Jan. 6th. Thank you all for the honour of representing our district. With the help and guidance from above I will be your voice and put you back in charge.
