A Nepali girl puts the Bhai Tika on the forehead of one of her brothers on the occassion of Bhai tika (Bhai = brother) during the Tihar festival. This festival is the 2nd largest of Nepal. The Bhai Tika consists of seven colors all having different meanings and connotations, but the main purpose is to extend the longevity N prosperity of the brothers. Some meanings of the colors this tika are: White - stands for purity & peace and to evoke pure feelings Yellow - to guard off any kind of harm/disease. Red - signifies good fortune and valor.
