A New Song to Sing............................................... The late Tammy Faye riddled with cancer in July 2007 wrote on her website a note and included the verse below. I had never read this verse until I read it in her note & it became a favorite verse. Tammy had lived a life filled with trials, enemies, and illness. Many judged her. She was made fun of and ridiculed. And by many I mean millions. It seemed many times the whole world was against her. What always struck me about Tammy was her optimism & steadfast faith in God. She never attacked her enemies. That last summer of her life she went on Larry King in the final stages of cancer & proclaimed her faith on national television as she had her entire life. Like me Tammy was not perfect. But Tammy always found a new song to sing through her faith in God. And that summer of 2007 when Tammy died, I was hoping to find a new song. And those closest to me, know exactly what I mean. I am so grateful to write that from where I stand today with my new song in tow, I still want to live this verse: Psalm 40:3 He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Whatever you may be going through, search God, He will give you a new song, a new heart, a changed life.
