A Nigerian passenger, Mr. Benedict Sylvester Igwedike, died on Tuesday in a United States bound flight No. 143 from Lagos. The West Unews reported that the sad event occurred aboard a United Airline flight which left Lagos on Monday night. As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the death which occurred midflight at 2800 Terminal Road remained unknown and the authorities could not confirm the details. However, Houston police said they were awaiting the autopsy results to determine the cause of the death, West Unews reported. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer, M. Miller, who said the cause of the death was yet to be known, reported that Igwedike was attended to immediately he arrived at the US airport. Miller said, “Further investigation determined Mr. Igwedike passed away shortly after the flight departed from Nigeria. The flight was then rerouted to Dakar, Senegal. After refueling, authorities in Senegal rerouted the flight to Houston. HPD patrol officers responded to a deceased male on arriving United Airlines flight, No. 143, from Lagos, Nigeria. “ Our correspondents were not able to reach operators of the United Airlines for comments as at 8.34pm, the time of filing the report.
