A PAINFUL SEASON OF OUR LIVES: MOLTING The Eagle is the most - TopicsExpress

A PAINFUL SEASON OF OUR LIVES: MOLTING The Eagle is the most majestic bird in the sky, but something happens to all eagles at least once in their life time, they molt. In the life of every Eagle, they will go through a molting process that can bring with it a great depression. This is the wilderness time that all Eagles will face. An Eagle can live up to 70 years; but in order to reach such high age, somewhere between the age of 30 and 40, he has to go through a painful and often life threatening renewal, not all Eagles survive. The renewal takes 150 days or five months. During this time he cannot fend for himself or defend himself…it is a time of crisis for the Eagle. During the molting season, the eagle will place itself on a rock and begin to pluck the feathers out of its body. It is painful process and can last for days, weeks, or even months. After plucking, the eagle washes in a nearby river to thoroughly clean away any remaining dirt and grime. After the cleansing, the eagle climbs back on the rock to bask in the sun. The eagle rubs its talons on the rock to sharpen and strengthen them. It will also sharpen its beak on the rock to remove the build-up calcium that has hindered its hunting. This very painful process for the eagle to go through. Many eagles die during the molting process. When an eagle makes it through the molting season, it is like rebirth that takes place in its life. The eagle is able to once again take its place in its life. The eagle is able to once again take its place in the heavens. it is able to soar and hunt with more effectiveness and vitality than it had before. We identify with the eagle, which enters into a season of molting in order to renew its strength. Isaiah 40:31 tells us, “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” For those who have never experienced a molting season, it is impossible to understand what others are going through right now. What is the most disconcerting to “molting eagles” is to question the legitimacy of their molting process by asking “are you sick?” or “What’s wrong with you?” or “Why are you acting out of character?” The eagle generally cannot explain what is wrong. When he sees his bedraggled image in a mirror, all he wants to do is “hide.” Isolated on a perch high on the mountain. His ability to fly high and fend for himself had greatly diminished. He did not know what was wrong. When young, immature eagles tell him to shape up, it makes him feel helpless and inferior. Young eagles are often very insensitive and say things to molting eagles that can be very hurtful and condemning. Molting eagles are just not able to shape up when told to “shape up.” They are not able to “pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.” Asking the molting eagle what is wrong is like asking a dormant tree why it is dormant. It is all part of the season of his life. It is only by the grace of GOD that molting eagles are able to emerge healed, new and transformed. Not all molting eagles survive. The word “grace” becomes a living word when a molting eagle looks back on his former life. Those who emerge victoriously through their molting season have greater anointing; greater passion and can soar higher and with less effort. They do not waste their energy bucking the tide or wind but use it to their advantage to sail and soar. They are eager to help other molting eagles pass through the molting process. They do not view them as sick and deformed but assist those going through the process of renewal. They even drop fresh meat into their nests or onto their perches and encourage them. For those who are experiencing this kind of season “do not try to fix what you cannot fixed. Do not find fault with one another. Do not find fault with your leaders, mentors, and pastors. Bury your prejudices and your arrogance. Submit to the whole process. Do not find fault with GOD. Trust and obey GOD and allow Him to strip away your pride and yourself centered character layer by layer out of your soul. Do not peck another molting eagle to death. All of you who read these words, who are like “molting” eagles, know that my heart is with you. I stand guard over you. I pray that we will endure this molting season and soar even higher. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles.” THE LORD BLESS US ALL.
