A POSTMODERN CHRONICLE AMEACHI; MORE THAN A GOVERNOR History is filled with men who stood and fought for various courses, damning the consequences there-from.Some lived to see the success of their dreams, others died bowing to the willo-the-wisp, the miasma, and all the odds that militated against them...but no matter the case, I present to you a man who defiled all odds to champion a progressive course of positive change, his name is HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR ROTIMI CHIBUIKE AMAECHI (RT HON)! * He departed sharply from the share-the-money philosophy of ODILI, his predecessor, to a postmodern revolution of governance in Rivers State, which puts the Rivers people and the state first, before all selfish cum parochial inclinations.Thus, he adopted an even development policy that ensured that his educational, health etc programs ran through every facet of the state. His antagonism with the center are far from personal as it bordered on issues like the need for the FG to return the stolen oil wells to Rivers state; to give Rivers state a concession to independently distribute its independently generated electricity; to solutistly restructure the dysfunctional fiscal federalism we presently practice by allowing all the contributing federating units of the pool account to be equitably involved in its management etc. * He has successfully positioned Rivers state into the center of present Nigerian politics - as a key player and not a key watcher.... very soon, we will fully understand what I mean. * He has become the potent motivator, catalyst, gladiator and driver to political leaders who believe in the much desired ideology of positive change for Nigeria - we can now see that this change is possible if we fight with the courage, wisdom and cleverness of AMAECHI. The list goes on and on...oh how I wish we can have more of AMAECHI; whose bourgeoning personality is potently overtaking even the chronicles of the great Mandela...if you dont know him, know him from today!
