A PRAYER YOU TODAY: 351/365-2014 NO MORE TOILING ! But Simon answered and said to Him, Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net. (Lk.5:5). SIDEBAR: According to dictionary dot com, TOILING means to have a continuous work; exhausting labor or effort. It means a laborious task; to engage in hard and continuous work. Within the framework of this meaning, we could see Simon, as a man who had used all his human power & effort to engage in a laborious, hard; and continuous work ALL NIGHT, & yet, had nothing to show for it. By implication, we see a man who probably would have been frustrated by this fruitless effort, in spite of his experience as a professional fisher man, on this particular night. There is nothing that could be more frustrating than putting in your best at what you know doing the most, & having nothing to show for it! But for the LORDS timely intervention on this fateful night, Simon Peter would have gone home empty handed! PRAYER POINT: LORD, I pray that You will step into the boats of our lives today and deliver us from every power that wants to engage us in unprofitable and unnecessary toiling. Take over our entire businesses, jobs, ministries, academics, and other vocations, and reward all our efforts with unhindered success. Deliver us from the hands of time wasting powers & superiors in Jesus name. Let there be a permanent end to our TOILING today in Jesus name. Amen & Amen.
