A Pennsylvania seed library was recently shut down by federal - TopicsExpress

A Pennsylvania seed library was recently shut down by federal authorities who said the system, “whereby residents could borrow heirloom seeds and then replace them at harvest time, was a violation of the 2004 Seed Act, while a commissioner warned that such behavior could lead to ‘agri-terrorism.’” The commissioners at the library had undertaken measures to ensure they were in full compliance with federal law, but the government still somehow thought their initiative could maybe/possibly lead to the degradation of current food lines and crops. Of course, Monsanto continues its production of genetically modified “terminator” seeds — thereby degrading food lines and crops. Yet Monsanto goes free. The double standard is glaringly obvious.
