A Personal Message I received, please support if you can. Hello! My name is Ana Maita and I am from Bucharest Romania. I represent the Initiative for Responsible Citizenship and I wish to ask you for help for our cause. In September last year, a 4yo boy was killed by a pack of stray dogs in a central park in Bucharest while he was playing with his 6yo brother. In Romania we have a severe problem with the proliferation of stray dogs - it is a 20yo problem caused by irresponsible dog-owners, incompetent authorities and extremist groups for animal rights. In Bucharest alone there are over 65000 strays roaming free on streets, in parks, on sidewalks, basically everywhere. They have been on the streets for so long (20 years) that they have in fact become feral - they exhibit wild animal behavior, hunting in packs, attacking the old, the isolated and yes, the children. They have killed 10 people in the last 6 years, 6 of whom were children under 10yo. After the unspeakable tragedy last September, myself and group of concerned parents created the citizens action group called the Initiative for Responsible Citizenship - we rallied, we organized debates, protests and finally got the legislators to adopt a new law we hoped would make our cities safer. Unfortunately the animal rights extremists have attacked us aggressively, threatening us and, worse, our children. They seem to have a very active base represented by international animal rights extremist groups (Animal Liberation Front which is rated by the FBI as a ecoterrorism group, among others) I reach out to you to counsel us how to receive support from international organizations of victims of dog attacks (children or otherwise). We mostly need formal support - LIKEs for our Facebook Page and comments in English to our posts. This is our website - it is translated in English.
