A Point of View on Planet Angie: I dont know how else to express - TopicsExpress

A Point of View on Planet Angie: I dont know how else to express my immense irritation over this thing but I have to say it on here, I suppose. On BBC2, theres been a lot of backslapping and smug laughs about its 50 year celebrations. Theyve shown a lot of the comedy shows that were successful on the channel in its trailers such as The Fast Show, and Catherine Tate and Little Britain... However Ive been annoyed by the disregard shown towards The Real McCoy. This show meant a great deal to me and others... From the early 90s onwards, it was watched and enjoyed by so many people that I know, and from all cultures and races, I might add. The characters were memorable and funny, really funny! Mr Frazer, the Vex Family, Damn Fool Man and Idiot Boy, Miseries Caribbean Diner, Nathaniel the Accountant... There were loads! But there has been not a bleeding clip! Not one! This is all the more maddening since the sad loss of Felix Dexter last year. For whatever reason, TRM is not available to buy on DVD or download (why not?) although Curtis Walker and Leo Chester and others still tour nationwide. It isnt enough to have clips of Goodness Gracious Me or the Kumars, since there wouldnt be GGM without the success of The Real McCoy - Meera Syal got her break on that show. I know it sounds childish whinging about this, but this show meant a great deal to me and my brethren back in the day. Along with Desmonds and er... not much else back then! It was nice to see actors making us laugh with inclusive comedy, instead of playing some bad parent or criminal on The Bill. Respect to The Real McCoy. ♥♥♥:-) :-D :-D :-D
