A Positive Story About Juba Roads A friend of mine, a rather mild-mannered and short-statured Ugandan, was driving in Juba a few days ago, when his nightmare came true. A boda, attempting to undertake him quite illegally, despite the fact he had indicated his intention to turn left and had started to make the turn, hit him from behind. Thankfully the rider was uninjured. However, he was rather angry, shouting did you not see me? (correct answer, obviously, no- you were in the wrong place). Far from admitting his guilt, the body guy then produced a pistol and a pair of handcuffs. My friend, intimidated, went into his abject apology routine. As he began to beg, he was interrupted by two people who had witnessed the incident. One, a policeman, went up to the boda guy and told him to stop talking nonsense before he slapped him. The other, who it turned out was a judge on his day off, assured my friend they would detain the idiot in order to ensure he would not be able to follow or harrass him. This nonsense must stop, said the judge...
