A Powerful True Live Story. The Story about Dr Sun Yat Sen & 120 Armenian Street Sun Yat Sen Penang Base, Who is Dr Sun Yat Sen, what was his big vision and what was his connection with Penang 120 Armenian Street....etc ? Sun Yat-sen (Sun Zhongshan) Born in 1866 at Cuiheng village, southern Quangdong and passed away in Beijing in 1925 due to liver cancer and buried in Nanjing China ( Sun Yat Sen Mousoleum a 392 steps climb to visit his tomb). The Man who changed China. Father Of Modern China.Founding member of Kuomintang party in China. and main Organizer of 1911 Boxer’s Rebellion against Qing or Manchu Dynasty and formed The Republic Of China ( ROC). He was a Christian and met his wife Soong Qingling in Japan and was attracted and captivated to her when he saw her playing the piano so well. His wife Soong Qingling is also a Christian and both of them can speak English and Dr Sun Yat Sen was granted a citizenship in America. When Dr Sun Yat Sen approach Soong Qinglings father for her hand in marriage her father objected as both of them were good friends and pointed out that Dr Sun was almost have the age older than her daughter and could be his father instead. So her father objected and disagree but they were so in love and meant for each other and she left the house/family to marry Dr Sun eventually. Dr Sun Yat Sen saw and identified the problem in China, people were dying in starvation on the streets and the Manchu/Qing dynasty government and official were the culprits. Mismanagement, self indulgence, heavy taxes and never care for the people, social economy and livelihood. He gave up his doctor practice in Hong Kong and went about promoting and highlighting the ills of the Government of the day and gave talks and discussion all over China, Japan, Malaysia - Penang as his oversea base, America, Taiwan, America etc. He created the awareness and desire to get rid of the Manchu/Qing government once and for all. To set up his 3 principles government for the betterment of all Chinese. TO achieve this he needed the firm support and moral and $$$ to overthrow the government of the day. Where ever he go he instill the importance of education and built schools for all Chinese in China and overseas. This is one of his main contribution to society other than revolution. Alot of Chinese overseas after hearing his speech and discussion, buy his ideology for a better China and future and this is the only way to go forward for mother China and a lot of overseas Chinese people and tycoons, big boss, tai kor, etc supported him morally and $$$ financially for this course. In Penang initially he wanted to established his base near The Gordess Of Mercy and Penang Chinese Chamber Of Commerce area opposite The Star now where it is nearer to the Chinese Community in Penang. However the owner of 120 Armenian Street a fervent supporter gave him this house to use as Dr Sun Yat Sens base in Penang. But why choose an area full of Jews living in the area...? Because they can spot a Chinese easily when coming to the base and can identify if it is their supporter or spy sent by the Qing government...? At the base on the entrance ceiling have a 20 cents coin size peep hole. If any person call and knock at the door, they will check from the peep hole first and if they can recognize their own people they will duly open the main door if they cannot recognize the person/s they will ask for the password. If the person can give the password and reason why they are sent there then they will open the door to let them in. No password, sorry no entry. DND. From 1926 the house was owned by a Hokkien merchant, Ch’ng Teong Swee. His granddaughter, the writer and heritage advocate, Khoo Su Nin also known as Khoo Salma Nasution, is custodian of the house today. In 2010–11 the house underwent extensive renovation to its façade and roof, drawing on the time-honoured skills of craftsmen from Quanzhou, southern China. Now it is turned into a museum and entrance fee is RM5 per person. Vice President Wen Jiabao also came to visit 120 Armenian Street. In 1910 Sun Yat Sen (1866–1925) moved the Southeast Asian headquarters of the Tongmenghui party to Penang because he found renewed support among the Overseas Chinese here for the overthrow of China’s Qing dynasty. In the same year, when Sun Yat Sen lived in Penang with his family for over four months, the house at 120 Armenian Street was where: The Penang Philomatic Union – a reading club – was based, providing a cover for Sun’s political party. The world’s oldest Chinese newspaper Kwong Wah Yit Poh was founded by Sun Yat Sen in 1910. Sun Yat Sen convened the celebrated Penang Conference and delivered his famous speech to plan the Huanghuagang Uprising, an important milestone leading to the Chinese revolution of 1911. This my friends is how Dr Sun Yat Sen is historically link to Penang 120 Armenian Street. Other than this after overthrowing the Qing/Manchu Dynasty and forming the Republic Of China ( ROC) he became the 1st President and populated the 3 principles of Governance. 1) Mínzú - the Peoples rule/government 2) Mínquán - the Peoples power or government by the People. Democracy. 3) Mínshēng - the Peoples welfare/livelihood, Together with 3 Famous Soong Sisters ( Soong Qingling - married to Dr Sun Yat Sen ), Soong Ailing - married to the richest man in China at that time the Minister Of Finance ) and Soong Meiling - General Chiang Kai Shek). When China Kuomintang party fell to mao Tze Tong Communist Party they too the China National Wealth and shipped it to Taiwan. They formed a Foundation known as The China Foundation later as Mei Hwa Foundation/Group, Chiang Kai Shek Foundation and now Sino Group - they owned 1/3 of the current world assets. This foundation goal is to help people all over the world in times of need and in times of war and world crisis. Some called them the Dragon Family. Divided into 8 family groups each holding a portion of the wealth at different places/parts of the world. Each family have a different code. to identify their family. This is why when Malaysia became independent 1957 and in 1961 Malaysia needed Funds to print our currency RM 500, RM 1,000 notes, back by gold bars and this foundation lend Malaysia 1.3 Trillion USD in Gold Bars to print our currency and to develop the infrastructure of our new born nation via Tunku Abdul Rahman as the signatory and witness by Lee Kwan Yew now Singapore President. Malaysia owes them for their help. Today a founding member/family is now over 130 years old and still alive in China.taken care of by the Chinese Government. Every 6 months change new blood. This my friends is a little history not found in books.
