A Prayer Warriors call I did not choose the Prayer Warriors Gift, It was God’s choice for me While others stand in front of crowds I bow on bended knee, Help me Lord to be faithful, though, I obtain no fame, May you use the prayers I pray, to deliver those in pain, May the requests I utter, late at night, while others are asleep, Cause your never-ending love to flow, to all the lost and lonely sheep. I thank you Lord, I have found my place, and I bow before your throne, I know I’ll see these answered prayers, when you come to take me home! Though some don’t think my gift is much, I pray without regret, For I know by praying for other’s needs, All my needs are met! We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. As I have gotten older I have realized that this doesnt mean that we have to stay on our knees next to the bed day and night, but there are so many idle, mindless tasks that we perform during our days, and, when you think about it, those are all opportunities to pray. Sometimes we cant even find the words to pray but Gods word tells us that: Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26 The Holy Spirit himself prays for us when we cant. Another thing I have learned about prayer is that we cant change Gods mind, He is in control, and He will make His will be done. You might ask What is the use of praying then? But let me remind you of Jesuss prayer in Gethsemane: And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Luke 22:41,42. Not my will, but yours, be done. is what Jesus prayed. Our job is to ask for MERCY when we pray, as Jesus did, but then to say Your will Lord, not mine. Well, I hope I have given you a few new thoughts on prayer, or just got your mind working a little, or just reminded you to Pray without ceasing. Blessings friends.
