A Press Conference will be held by the Co-operative Enterprise Council and the Pond-Deshpande Centre on Nov 21 at 10:00 am in Fredericton. The purpose is to announce the results of an economic impact study on co-ops (i.e. $1.35 billion in revenues) and a recent survey of social enterprises in New Brunswick. Also to be highlighted are the innovative opportunities emerging in the sector that are driving innovation and economic growth through technology, mentorship, and the creation of new pools of social capital. A brief background paper is attached with more details and the recommendations being considered by government to support co-ops and other social impact businesses.
