A Public Private Partnership between the Free State Provincial Government and the Netcare group has led to the distribution of sanitary pads to one million indigent girls and the training of 100 students in nursing since 2011. Together with members of our PEC, we visited the Netcare Education’s Pretoria campus last week to address students and educators and meet with senior executives of the private healthcare group. The visit was part of the provincial government’s drive to show its appreciation for the support the private healthcare group has shown towards government’s programmes. This was also part of nurturing and forging future collaboration in training young people from the province in catering, cleaning and emergency medical services.
