A READER ASKS: I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant with my second baby. That being said I have scheduled a C-Section. I had a very traumatic hospital birth with my first. My delivery resulted in "emergency" forceps. AGAIN. "emergency" being used lightly...My baby is/was perfect. I on the other hand had extensive injury. I had a 4th degree tear..Which then resulted in a rectal vaginal fistula....ALL of that being said..here I am 24 weeks pregnant:) I have had 4 failed corrective surgeries for this... My OB (who is wonderful-was not who delivered my baby) has told me the only option I have is C-section...due to two reasons...1. Extensive scar tissue 2. Baby and I being exposed to extra infection during delivery My question is..Is C-section the only option??? Has anyone ever delivered vaginally with RVF ever before?? I just want to make sure that all my bases are covered...I am SO nervous about this surgery!!!
