A REAL #tbt - Wow...found this video from Sept 29th of 2010...when I took a leap of faith and went to Hollywood with all my equipment to take my first try at scoring an entire episode of BETs Toya: A Family Affair even though I knew there were almost 30 other producers sending in music for the show...ended up getting the ENTIRE season - 16 Episodes & the Theme Song... Felt like a dream sitting in an edit bay with MC Lyte & CEO James DuBose ...it was my first real situation in Hollywood and many said You cant compete with seasoned composers & Its Hollywood and you dont live there do you know what youre doing? & Its hard to get in to the business out there with no experience or connections it all came from reaching out to MC Lyte via Twitter...she said shed play the audio of the first episode to me over the phone and see what I come up with and I called back and said How about I meet you in Hollywood? She was shocked but gave me the chance...Moral of the story, you go the extra mile and go get what you want with HardWork and Faith no matter what people think or say to you its about what level your faith is at! Either 100% or 0%! There is no in-between...bible even says youre either Hot or Cold there is no Luke Warm!...God will always see you through if you trust him...yes there were moments where I was terrified, and overwhelmed, but my faith in God gave me the peace I needed to know everything would be just fine and there would be no limits to Gods favor and grace...in the same way, Feb 13th I stepped out on faith and go get what is destined to be ours...success via independence.
