A REJOINDER TO AGHA EGWUs PIECE. Ordinarily,I dont call people out this way when they goof. I simply put up my own update(s) explaining why I have contrary opinion(s). But allowing Agha Egwus update,titled The Ekiti Tsunami And The Sectarian Card to go unchallenged is a great disservice to fellow facebookers,fellow activists and the general public. The beauty of present day criticism is that we can disagree with one another.And if we take a closer look at the underlying factors that gives rise to our agitations,it is because we want a better Nigeria. Therefore,Aghas disenchantment with APC which according to him he laboured for its merger which was between former CPC and CAN is understandable and appreciated. Who wont be angry at such treatment? But what I vehemently refuse to accept and understand is his level of bitterness which reeked through the vitriol in the said update. On SECTARIANISM,what exactly does he mean by that claim? Can anyone tell us that Fasholas policies in Lagos favours Moslems over Christians? Are Moslem students in LASU exempted from the new tuition fees? The Christian traders in Balogun,Tejuosho etc are being chased out for Moslem traders to take over or what? LASTMA is meant for only Christian motorists? The displaced persons in Iwaya,Yaba are only Christians? In case Agha isnt aware,Fasholas sons attend St Agnes Catholic Church,Maryland Lagos.This isnt them say,I saw them with my own very eyes at St Agnes,Maryland. The man,Fashola was once quoted in an interview when he said his children are free to either go with his or their mothers religion. Dame Abimbola Fashola is a Roman Catholic. Oluremi Tinubu was once a member of Girls Brigade as a young girl in her Church. Okay,did Fayemis policies in Ekiti in favour of only Moslems? In Oyo State,can anyone point me to a Christian who has been arrested for plying on the rehabilitated roads? Just one example of such arrest will do. There is no one more sectarian than Agha Egwu. I have his mobile number and he has mine.The first time we spoke after sending me series of messages about a Bloggers Forum,the choice words Agha has for Hausas/Yorubas can ignite a fire.Im guessing he must have erroneously thought that I am Igbo. He said he graduated from a Yoruba University and I asked which of our federal universities is called Yoruba University. He answered,one of these universities in Yorubaland... My antenae went up immediately I heard that and I wisely allowed him talk the talk. It was more of an egoistic professor trying to indoctrinate a novice.I gave him a long rope and he did as I expected. Can Agha Egwu tell us if shoprite is used by only Moslems?So,why then are Christians whose school BAT is accused of bulldozing still go to Lagos Shoprite? Are they suffering from amnesia? Only Agha Egwu can answer these questions. Can he also tell us when he had this rhema of supporting Yorubas? Whats with the Christian backlash sweep across Yoruba States that hes singing like a responsorial Psalm? This fellow has given us a hint about his malnourished understanding of the South-West. Yes,the South-West is majorly Yorubas but we are duty bound to educate and enlarge his understanding that we the Ogus in Badagry,the Itshekiris in Ondo,the Aworis in Ojo are also part and parcel of South-West.Lagos is home to the Ogus whose tongue and alphabets has no singular similarity with Yoruba. Again,just as some misinformed bunch of extremists claim that the Jonathanian administration is purely a Christian cabinet,they conveniently forgot that Namadi Sambo is a Moslem from Kaduna State,Agha Egwu has joined the bandwagon of such myopic revisionists divisive elements and has committed the fallacy of tagging APC sectarian. Granted,just like my facebook friend,Goodluck Emeruwa clearly stated under my update yesterday,APC lacks internal democracy and I concede that to Egwu.But the difference lies in the fact that while Emeruwa stated his facts like a truly enlightened and educated mind,Aghas angst towards APC is filled with pain and bitterness towards APC as seen in the said update of his. He went ahead and roundly insulted facebookers.Im curious;if Agha doesnt believe in the power of facebook,what then is the wisdom behind the creation of Bloggers Association which he actually want me to be a part of? If you ever listen to this individual in real life,arrogance needs no definition afterwards. He took on Nigerians in diaspora,lambasting them that their activities on facebook as it relates to matters in Nigeria,their homestead,doesnt fly. Mr Agha Egwu,please remove the log in your own eyes first. Your arrogance about being the first youngest Students Union President in the history of Nigeria doesnt fly. People like you are the ones who bastardized NANS. I even asked him which university that is,he asked me to ask around.Yes,that is someone who wants me to come on board and work with him in sensitizing Nigerians.Sending me on discovery assignment on the great Agha Egwu. What in Gods name is that if not arrogance? Now he regales us with knowing the nooks and crannies of UK. Are you David Cameroun? By his own assertion,corruption isnt a sin,it is a culture. Yes,GEJ also said ordinary stealing is called corruption. Now,Agha has enlightened us that corruption is not a sin,it is a culture;a way of life. The very facebook activists who shunned his call to join Bloggers Association are the same ones hes bashing now for failing to understand his myopic and narrow views of the peoples of the South and Middle East whom he roudly and unknowingly insulted by erroneously tagging them as people who fear Moslem domination. Wiping up religious and ethnic sentiments exposes his jaundiced outlook. You are vey guilty of what you accused Tinubu and Buhari of. You are purely sectarian. It is with this same bitterness he cited the #AmaechiIKnow episode in his update.From what I could deduce from his rantings,his beef is about the swanky hotel rooms these activists were lodged in,he would have preferred their lodgings to be a five-star hotel I believe. If only Agha Egwu can be sincere,he well knows that governement doesnt bribe you with cheque. Or from where does he think Ghana-must-go bags gained popularity? I know three of those who went to PH and I have an idea of what their financial standing are. These are people who DONT have N3million in their respective accounts. I know because my involvement with them goes beyond facebook and I know their financial constraints. This campaign of calumny puts you in a very bad light. Going further,attributing what went down in Ekiti to religious subjugation and domination is naïve. Very childish. That is an insult to Ekiti Kete and the South-West in general. We are the most religious tolerant people in Nigeria.I say this with all the pride it deserves. Our outlook on religion is all accomodating and well known. Show me a family in the South-West that has no mix of Moslems and Christians. Just one! I dare you to show me one. That you are disenchanted with APC is a given. You have every right to be. But if your updates are anything to go by,your fury is that of a wife scorned. Citing insults of traditional rulers is very unintelligent to say the least. Did Fayose not insult Ewi of Ado during his first missionary journey in Ekiti State? Get your facts right before you come to public arena and disseminate half-truths. Your new sympathy or is it empathy for the Yoruba is irritating if not suspicious. Ere kini aja n ba ekun se?(What friendship exists between the dog and the tiger?) Since when did Yoruba issues started giving one who dissed his alma mater as Yoruba University a headache? Your hypocrisy is glaring and annoying. Facebook doesnt revolve around you and the rude awakening by facebook activists gave you a vivid picture of that. The last time you called me,I asked you what alternative(s) are you suggesting with less than 10 months to the general elections.You said Ill be surprised. I was curious if a new party is springing up or what.You said its possible but from your continous talk,I knew you were completely PDP through and through. You failed in your attempt to hide that fact from me. You said APC will field the Rivers man as presidential hopeful while that Aboki Fulani from Kano will be his vice.(Your words) In retrospect,I now clearly understand your bellyaching towards Rotimi Amaechis planned visit to Ekiti and your jubilation when GEJ employed federal might in banning him from entering Ekiti. I wasnt aware that for one to drive into or fly to Ekiti,one needs presidential permission. Isnt it laughable that you cited boko haram,the killings,unknown Fulani gunmen(unknown? Yet Fulani?)as reasons for the Yorubas angst? This very you that staunchly stated that no girl was missing from Chibok? YOU? True Christains dont revenge. Agha Egwu,Ghandis words must have been addressed to you.You are no Christian,cos Your Christ is unlike you! That the forthcoming elections are APC to loose if care is not taken is an open secret.I wrote about it severally. APC loosing to PDP in Lagos State is a given if something isnt done fast. That APC has serious lessons to learn from what happened in Ekiti last Saturday is not contestable. Tinubus overbearing attitude and high-handedness is a serious irritant to the survival of APC. It is open secret that he employs State apparatus for selfish purposes and this is NOT my excuse of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I dont admire him one bit! If APC gets truncated in the coming elections,that will likely lead to the extinction of APC.That is assured. But let no one use #EkitiDecides to pull cotton wool over our eyes. We know sectarians when we see them. Our antenae for religious and ethnic divisionists are strategically placed and well honed. To Agha Egwu and the other foot soldiers of PDP shrouding themselves as fence-sitters and calling themselves centrist(only God knows what centrist means),you have drawn the first blood in our build up to 2015 with all your hate poisoined updates. And we wont sit down,read you and SMH and watch you peddle falsehoods as gospel on cyberspace. For every moronic updates,we will hit you with multiple updates. Watch out and borrow yourselves brains as we say in street parlance. And since you find this present administration satisfactory,I have a prayer point for you; May your entire life be run like this present administration. And the people shall say;AMEN.
