And the momentum of the fight of the artist is evident in each tract. The figure of the tiger is dominant in her works. And you, Francesca, and a feline. The beautiful exhibition was organised with a clear aim: to raise public awareness as to the encephalitis type complaints and on scientific research to eradicate this disease. Incontenibile. Francesca Owens con questo suo temperamento non lascia, però, nulla al caso. Al ribollimento del carattere si associa una pignola ricerca anche nella pittura, che è sempre stata la sua prima passione. Le sue opere hanno sempre una gestazione, più o meno lunga. Non si affida allestro del momento. Il poeta lusitano Fernando Pessoa raccomandava allartista in genere di superare lostacolo della spontaneità. Che non è sinonimo di purezza espressiva, bensì di ingenuità artistica. Lispirazione non ha limmediatezza del lampo. Lidea che si affaccia è un abbozzo. Che va poi coltivato e seguito durante la crescita. Non basta intingere il pennello sulla tavolozza. Occorre saperli mescolare e combinarli in una visione armonica del tutto. Viceversa il quadro non vibra. E lamericana Owens sa quando un quadro vive di vita propria. La mostra delle sue opere al chiostro di San Nicolò è un album della sua attività artistica. Di ieri e di oggi. Nelle tele cè il dolore per le sue vicende personali e familiari e cè anche la gioia di vivere che non si arresta con la morte. Che, per dirla con Thomas Mann, è solo un accessorio della vita. Le sua tele fremono. Dai suoi quadri erompono passioni che solo una vera artista sa tradurre in segni. E vero che la sensibilità si affina di più con la malattia, che è un adattamento alla morte. E le composizioni di Francesca Owens sono piene delle note dolenti della rara malattia dalla quale è stata colpita. Ma la ribellione è forte. E limpeto della lotta dellartista è evidente in ogni tratto. La figura della tigre è dominante nelle sue opere. E lei, Francesca, è un felino. Che non mostra il viso afflitto e rassegnato. Ma digrigna i denti e ruggisce. La bella mostra è stata allestita con uno scopo ben preciso: sensibilizzare lopinione pubblica sullencefalite mialgica e sulle ricerche scientifiche per debellare questa malattia.
