A RITUAL...28 YEARS AGO: from our Wedding Album slowly but surely turning into sepia Scene 1: No, not just a ritual; we knew it deep in our hearts... We meant each word spoken, we meant each answer given...because we meant to be together. Together we built our own dreams, together we defended our principles. And more than anything else, together we meant to love each other and respect each others uniqueness. We meant to stay in love...stubbornly in love...forever! Scene 2: Some say that marriage is a mere piece of paper. Not for us. We uphold the teachings of Christ. We know that love cannot be put into writing...in every effort we discover that there is always more to give to ones beloved. Even as I signed this paper, my confidence did not lie on its legality alone, but on the love of my beloved...on our love... We fervently prayed: May this day be the beginning of a simple, happy, properous married life! Scene 3: Innocent looks of innocent ones. We were just like them years ago. We were then innocent about the daily cares, not until were grown ups...not until we met. Our innocent hearts discovered how beautiful love is...and on that day you taught me how to love. I was not aware but you were such a good teacher, and I learned fasts -- for I have with me the best guide and the best teacher, literally and figuratively. The best friend Ive known is now my better half. Thats how fast things happened. Soon, these young and innocent on-lookers--bearers of flowers and rings--will discover by themselves what we have discovered. They will not be innocents for long. Just like us now, they will someday, soon... Look at us then. Look at them now. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MY WIFE OF 28 YEARS NOW, MY LOVE FOREVER!
