A SENIOR LAWMAN SAYS THERES NO TURF IN BARBADOS THE FORCE CANNOT POLICE A senior police official says there are no areas or districts in Barbados that are out of bounds for law enforcement. Acting Assistant Commissioner with responsibility for Crime, Erwin Boyce says while this happens in some Caribbean countries, it is not the case here. He told a meeting of the Mens Educational Support Association at the St Michael School, Barbados is still a very safe place. He says the police force has a mandate which it lives up to daily. Acting Assistant Commissioner Boyce says the current sentencing mechanism is not deterring criminals and suggests the island looks towards a system adopted at a US prison.
